UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, on his first official visit to India, will meet PM Modi in Mumbai on Thursday. The talks will focus on trade, investment, and business cooperation between the two countries.
Starmer is accompanied by a delegation of over 100 business leaders. The discussions will review progress under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, guided by the ‘Vision 2035’ roadmap agreed alongside the India-UK Free Trade Agreement in July 2025.
What is Vision 2035?
‘Vision 2035’ is a 10-year roadmap to strengthen India-UK relations, with a focus on technology, trade, investment, and financial cooperation. It aims to keep the partnership dynamic and aligned with shared strategic interests. Progress will be reviewed annually by India’s External Affairs Minister and the UK’s Foreign Secretary.
During his visit, Starmer will also attend the CEO Forum and Global Fintech Fest 2025 at the Jio World Centre, highlighting opportunities for business collaboration and innovation between India and the UK.
This high-level engagement reflects the commitment of both countries to enhance bilateral trade, strengthen strategic ties, and implement Vision 2035 effectively.
