New Delhi, June 5, 2025 – Indian smartphone brand Lava has confirmed the launch date of its upcoming smartphones — Lava Storm Play and Lava Storm Lite. These new models will be officially unveiled on June 13th at 12 PM IST. A dedicated listing is now live on Amazon, showcasing the design and key hardware specifications of both devices.
Lava Storm Play: First Device with MediaTek Dimensity 7060
The Lava Storm Play will be the world’s first smartphone to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chipset. This marks an upgrade over the Dimensity 6080 found in the Lava Storm 5G launched in 2023.
The octa-core processor offers a peak clock speed of 2.6GHz and is coupled with an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU for graphics. The phone will also include LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, promising a faster and more efficient performance.
Design-wise, the teaser on Amazon reveals a boxy frame with rounded corners, and the volume rocker and power button are located on the right edge. The device features dual rear camera sensors, with one lens housed in a Pixel-style visor module. A 50MP camera and LED flash are also visible. The Lava Storm Play will be available in a blue colour variant.
Lava Storm Lite: India’s First Dimensity 6400 Smartphone
The Lava Storm Lite will be the first phone in India to launch with the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, a successor to the Dimensity 6300.
The phone will feature a square camera module on the back with dual-camera sensors and an LED flash. Like the Play model, a 50MP camera sensor is confirmed. The power and volume buttons are placed on the right edge. The Lava Storm Lite appears in a beige/gold colour variant.
Expected Pricing
While official pricing has not been announced yet, the Lava Storm 5G was launched at Rs 13,499 in December 2023. Based on that, the Storm Play could be priced similarly, with the Storm Lite expected to be a more affordable alternative.
More details, including full specifications, pricing, and availability, will be revealed during the official launch event on June 13th.
