Ahmedabad, May 6 – Popular singer and Indian Idol 12 winner Pawandeep Rajan was critically injured in a severe car accident early Monday morning while traveling to Ahmedabad. He has been hospitalized in serious condition.
Accident Near Moradabad
The accident occurred around 3:40 AM near Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. Pawandeep was on his way to Delhi Airport to catch a flight to Ahmedabad for a scheduled performance. He had recently returned from his hometown, Champawat, and was heading back to work commitments.
Pawandeep’s MG Hector SUV was being driven by his driver, Rahul Singh. As the vehicle descended from the Chapala Crossing overbridge near Gajraula in the Gajraula Police Station area, it crashed into a stationary dumper truck parked by the highway. It is believed the driver may have briefly dozed off, resulting in the collision.
The crash left Pawandeep, his friend Ajay Mehra, and the driver seriously injured.
Emergency Response and Hospitalization
Inspector Akhilesh Pradhan of Gajraula Police stated that the police arrived promptly upon receiving the information. The injured were extracted from the vehicle and rushed to a nearby government hospital. Due to the severity of their injuries, all three were referred to a private ICU hospital in Didauli, and later moved to a facility in Noida, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Pawandeep’s Condition and Manager’s Statement
According to his manager, Pawandeep has suffered multiple injuries, particularly to his left hand and leg. Photos and videos circulating from the hospital show him unconscious and visibly injured. Plans are underway to transfer him to a more advanced medical facility for continued treatment.
