Fairfield Institute of Management & Technology (FIMT), a premier institution affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), has proudly marked a major milestone in its journey of academic and legal excellence. Two final-year law students from FIMT’s School of Law, Darshit Mudgil and Yash Vats, have successfully qualified for the Global Rounds of the prestigious 17th Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition. Both students are currently in their 10th semester of the BA LLB program and are key members of the college’s Moot Court Society – Justice Prevails.

This international recognition is a reflection not only of their hard work and dedication but also of the high-quality mentorship provided by Ms.Ria Das, their team coach. Ms. Das, a proud alumna of the Fairfield School of Law (Batch 2015–2020), is presently an advocate at the Delhi High Court and also serves as a Youth Advisor to the United Nations. Her guidance and coaching played a pivotal role in preparing the students for the competition’s Memorial rounds, where they performed exceptionally well.

The Global Rounds are scheduled to take place virtually from 6th to 12th May 2025, while the final in-person rounds will be held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, in July 2025. Competing at this level on a global platform is a major achievement, and FIMT is delighted to announce that the team has been ranked among the Top 50 teams worldwide and Top 13 in Asia.

This significant accomplishment is a testament to the strength of legal education and practical training at Fairfield School of Law. It reflects the college’s commitment to fostering critical thinking, legal research, and advocacy skills through active participation in national and international competitions.

Faculty members, students, and alumni have all expressed immense pride in this success. The participation of Darshit and Yash in such a globally recognized platform not only highlights the talent nurtured at FIMT but also raises the bar for future law students of the institution.

FIMT continues to empower students to shine on national and global stages, reaffirming its status as one of the top law colleges in Delhi under GGSIPU.
