Delhi Chief Minister CM Gupta on Sunday announced that the national capital will receive ₹24,000 crore worth of road infrastructure projects, supported by the Central government. The investment aims to modernize key roadways, reduce congestion, and improve connectivity across the city.
Addressing a press conference, CM Gupta said the projects are part of a broader plan to decongest traffic bottlenecks and enhance ease of transport. “With Centre’s assistance, we will witness a major infrastructure transformation in Delhi,” he said.
The proposed development includes expressways, underpasses, flyovers, and smart traffic management systems. Work is expected to begin in phases, with key corridors being prioritized based on traffic density and urban planning data.
Gupta also emphasized that the collaboration between state and central agencies will fast-track approvals and fund allocations. “This is a step towards a cleaner, faster, and more efficient Delhi,” he added.
Citizens and experts have welcomed the move, calling it a much-needed boost to the capital’s crumbling road infrastructure. The projects are expected to create thousands of jobs and significantly cut down travel time once completed.
