Warren Buffett Earns ₹80 Lakh Every Hour from Coca-Cola Dividends; Owns 400 Million Shares
Legendary investor Warren Buffett’s company, Berkshire Hathaway, earns over ₹90.27 lakh per hour from its investment in Coca-Cola. With a massive holding of 400 million shares, Buffett receives an annual dividend of ₹7,031 crore from the beverage giant.
This breaks down to ₹19.27 crore per day, or over ₹80 lakh per hour an hourly dividend that exceeds the average American’s entire annual income.
No Shares Sold in 36 Years
Buffett began investing in Coca-Cola in 1988. Over the following years, Berkshire Hathaway acquired 400 million shares, investing around ₹11,000 crore. Today, this investment represents over 7% stake in the company.
Notably, Buffett has never sold a single share of Coca-Cola in these 36 years. The investment has not only stood the test of time but has also multiplied in value. What cost ₹1 in 1988 is now worth ₹36 a 3,600% return.
Coca-Cola is considered a “defensive stock” people continue to consume soft drinks even during economic downturns. The company has also increased its dividend for over 60 consecutive years, earning it the elite title of “Dividend King.”
This year, Coca-Cola declared a dividend of $2 per share, significantly boosting Berkshire Hathaway’s passive income stream.
13% Return So Far This Year
Coca-Cola shares have offered a 13% return in 2025 so far. On January 2, the stock was priced at $61.84, and has since climbed to $69.85 marking a gain of $8.01 per share in under seven months.
Buffett Donates ₹51,300 Crore in Shares
In June, Buffett donated $6 billion (₹51,300 crore) worth of Berkshire Hathaway stock to the Gates Foundation and four other family-run charitable foundations marking his largest annual donation ever.

According to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires List, Warren Buffett’s personal net worth stands at ₹12.26 lakh crore, making him the 10th richest person globally. At 94 years old, he remains one of the most respected and successful investors of all time.
