India has witnessed a fresh rise in COVID-19 cases, with the total number of active cases reaching 1,009, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

State-wise Active Cases:

  • 📍 Kerala: 430 active cases

  • 📍 Maharashtra: 209 active cases

  • 📍 Delhi: 104 active cases

These three states together account for over 70% of the country’s current active caseload.

Government Advisory:

The Health Ministry has urged all states to stay vigilant, ramp up testing, and strictly follow COVID-appropriate behaviour, especially in public spaces. Mask usage and social distancing norms are being encouraged again.

Delhi Govt On Alert:

The Delhi government has directed hospitals to remain on high alert and maintain adequate testing levels. Experts believe seasonal changes and public complacency may be contributing to the rise.

 Experts Speak:

Although there’s no confirmation of a new variant, health experts suggest genomic surveillance is necessary to rule out any possible mutation driving the spike.

Conclusion:

While the situation is currently under control, the rise in active cases is a reminder that COVID-19 is still around. Staying cautious and following health protocols remains essential.
