Gujarat: In a significant breakthrough, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has apprehended a man from Okha in Devbhoomi Dwarka for allegedly transmitting classified information about the Indian Coast Guard and maritime borders to Pakistan. The accused, identified as Dipesh Gohil, is currently being interrogated by security agencies.

Preliminary investigations by the ATS reveal that Gohil was working for a Pakistan-based espionage network. He is accused of sharing sensitive details, such as the movements of Coast Guard vessels and images of India’s maritime boundaries, through social media and other communication platforms. Evidence from his phone also uncovered contact with a Pakistani woman to whom he was relaying information about Coast Guard operations.

According to ATS officials, Gohil’s actions were part of a broader operation that enabled Pakistani intelligence agencies to access sensitive data related to India’s maritime security. This arrest is being hailed as a major achievement by security forces, as it may help unravel a larger espionage network.

Similar Arrests Last Month

This operation follows another significant arrest made by Gujarat ATS last month. In Porbandar, a man named Pankaj Kotia was detained for sharing intelligence regarding the Indian Navy and Coast Guard with Pakistan through WhatsApp and Instagram. It was also discovered that ₹26,000 had been transferred to his account from Pakistan. Kotia worked at a local tobacco factory in Porbandar.

These actions by the Gujarat ATS underscore the growing threat to India’s maritime security and the vigilant efforts by security agencies to address it. The recent arrests highlight the need for enhanced surveillance and preventive measures to counter espionage activities targeting sensitive defense and maritime information.
