Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty starer Motichoor Chaknachoor has finally released amidst all the controversies and speculations. As we had reported earlier, after a stay being imposed on the release of the movie by Bihar civil court the release of the movie was iffy. The actors, the director Debamitra Biswal, the producer Rajesh Bhatia, all surrounded by controversies and unpleasantness have still managed to battle all odds and the movie has finally seen the light of the day.
The movie revolves around the two main characters Pushpinder and Anita (Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty) Pushpinder a 36 years old middle-aged man who hails from Bhopal but is working in Dubai, comes to India to get married (desperately). Circumstances and situations bring his neighbor Anita a girl in her mid-twenties who is 10 years younger than Pushpinder, who keeps rejecting all the ‘rishta’s’ brought in by her parents only because she wants to get married to someone settled abroad. Anita agrees to compromise and get married to Pushpinder only because she wants to live in Dubai, so they elope!
But in a twist of fate Pushpinder loses his job in Dubai and is forced to take up a job and stay in Bhopal. What happens after that is a rollercoaster ride of some comical and some not so comical moments.
This is the first time in his 20 years long career that Nawazuddin Siddiqui has acted in a romantic-comedy. And we must say his acting and comic timing is commendable, on the other hand, Athiya Shetty too has really put in a lot of effort to fit into the role of Anita. Both the actors have done justice to their characters. Yet the movie falls short of impressing the audience completely, the movie paints a regressive picture of the Indian society.
The coming week shall tell how the movie will fare at the box-office. Although we wish the makers and actors of the movie all the very best!
