Explosion at AM/NS Plant Claims 4 Lives; One Injured
On December 31st, an explosion at the AM/NS facility in Hazira resulted in a devastating fire at the Corex-2 plant, causing the tragic deaths of four employees who were severely burned in the incident. One individual remains missing. A report submitted by the Olpad District authorities to the Collector, Dr. Saurabh Pargi, refuted false claims circulating on social media about 10 fatalities. The authorities confirmed that only four deaths occurred, and one employee, identified as Pravinbhai, suffered severe burns.
The investigation has uncovered severe corporate negligence in the handling of safety protocols, with concerns raised about the company’s responsibility in the incident. In light of this, further investigations are being conducted by the Factory Inspector, the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), and local police agencies to determine the full extent of the company’s accountability.
The GPCB has called for the company to be permanently sealed to prevent any further accidents or hazards.
This tragic event has highlighted the importance of strict safety standards and corporate responsibility in industrial operations. Authorities are continuing to work to ensure justice for the victims and prevent future accidents.
