LinkedIn is a widely popular professional social media platform used by millions without any restrictions. However, different communities often have specific needs. Catering to the LGBTQ+ community, a new professional social media platform named Famm Connect has been launched.

Famm Connect has been created by Cat Perez and Mariana G. Rogolo, a couple from Northern California who are also parents to a three-year-old child. Previously, they launched Famm, an LGBTQ+ marketplace featuring clothing, home goods, beauty products, and services. They see Famm Connect as an extension of their e-commerce site.

The founders describe Famm Connect as a secure platform designed specifically for LGBTQ+ professionals, allowing them to network, find mentors, and collaborate on future business ventures. The platform aims to become a leading social network for the LGBTQ+ community, enabling members to connect with others who share similar goals or interests.

Famm Connect offers several features, including a feed for sharing and discovering posts, direct messaging, and a section to manage connections. The platform’s standout feature is the “Open to” tags, which users can add to their profiles to indicate their purpose for using the app, such as being open to coffee chats, seeking mentorship opportunities, volunteering, etc. These tags make intentions clear when reaching out to other members.

Currently, Famm Connect is invite-only, meaning users need an invitation to join the platform. It is live on iOS and Android devices in the United States, Canada, and the UK.
