Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has officially introduced its first electric scooters in the Indian market: the Activa e and QC1. While the Activa e features a swappable battery setup, the QC1 is equipped with a fixed battery that uses a charging cable. These scooters mark the Japanese automaker’s 12th and 13th electric vehicle models globally, supporting Honda’s ambitious goal of launching 30 EVs worldwide.
The company has also set a vision to achieve carbon neutrality for its products and corporate activities by 2050. Alongside electrifying its motorcycles, the Activa e and QC1 represent Honda’s first steps toward achieving this mission in India. Here’s everything you need to know about these newly launched electric scooters:
Honda Activa e
The Honda Activa e is a fresh addition to the Activa lineup, retaining the popular ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) scooter’s body and frame but showcasing a minimalist EV-specific design. Key features include:
- A redesigned apron with LED headlamps and integrated turn indicators.

Riders can choose from three modes: Standard, Sport, and Econ.
Honda QC1
The Honda QC1, designed specifically for the Indian market, will be launched in spring 2025. It is optimized for short-distance commutes and shares a similar design language with the Activa e, with some distinct elements:
- A unique headlamp design without LED DRLs.
- A fixed 1.5 kWh battery pack, charged via a floorboard-mounted socket.
- A compact in-wheel motor delivering 1.2 kW (1.6 bhp) and peaking at 1.8 kW (2.4 bhp), offering a range of 80 km per charge.
The QC1 comes equipped with a 5-inch LCD instrument panel, providing essential ride information. Additional features include under-seat storage, a USB Type-C port, and more.
