Surat: In the presence of Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil and chaired by Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh, a roadshow for Bharat Tex-2025 was organized in Surat.

The event marks the lead-up to the global textile expo, BHARAT TEX: 2025, scheduled to take place at the Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from February 14 to 17, 2025. Organized by the Ministry of Textiles with support from the Textile Export Promotion Council Consortium, the expo will display products across apparel, home furnishings, carpets, fibers, yarns, threads, and silk.

In addition, a segment focusing on apparel, textile machinery, chemicals, and dyes will be showcased at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, from February 12 to 15, 2025.

Giriraj Singh emphasized the transformative role of Bharat Tex-2025, calling it a “global textile trade fair” that captures the entire value chain—from raw materials to finished products.

“India’s textile industry symbolizes immense capability, diversity, and prosperity, and this event will showcase it to the world,” Singh stated.

Highlighting Surat as a success story, he remarked:
“Surat has evolved into a model of self-reliant textile growth, transitioning from an unorganized to an organized sector through sheer hard work and innovation.”

Singh also outlined the government’s vision of reaching a $350 billion turnover in the textile sector by 2030. He added plans for carbon fiber production by 2025-26 and $12-15 billion exports in technical textiles, urging entrepreneurs to collaborate in creating a strong Brand India for textiles.

The minister invited global stakeholders, including industry leaders, designers, and buyers, to participate in the expo, envisioning it as a unifying platform for the global textile ecosystem.

Patil highlighted Surat’s pivotal role as a textile hub and shared updates on the PM Mitra Park being planned near Surat in Navasari District’s Vansi Borasi area.
He noted that this initiative would not only boost Gujarat’s textile sector but also create:

  • 1 lakh direct jobs
  • 2 lakh indirect jobs

The project will address infrastructure and housing needs for workers, with both state and central governments collaborating on its execution. Patil also appealed to entrepreneurs to adopt rainwater harvesting to enhance groundwater levels.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including Principal Secretary Mamta Verma, Industries Commissioner Sandeep Sagle, representatives from Reliance, Birla, Welspun, and industry stalwarts like Shalin Toshniwal and Dheeraj Shah.

Bharat Tex-2025 promises to be a monumental showcase of India’s vibrant textile industry, setting the stage for global partnerships and innovation in the textile ecosystem.
