Raja Saab Box Office: Prabhas’ latest film The Raja Saab has made a strong start at the box office despite receiving mixed to negative reviews from critics. The horror-comedy crossed the ₹100 crore mark worldwide on its first day, including paid previews, proving that Prabhas still has massive box office pull.
According to trade website Sacnilk, The Raja Saab earned around ₹26 crore from overseas markets on day one. In India, the film collected approximately ₹54 crore, along with ₹9 crore from paid previews. This took the total worldwide collection to over ₹100 crore within the first day of release.
The Raja Saab is directed by Maruthi and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the banner of People Media Factory. The film features a strong cast including Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab.
Speaking about the film, Prabhas said that he wanted to do a complete entertainer as films were becoming too action-focused. He praised director Maruthi’s writing, especially the climax, calling it powerful and unique for a horror-comedy. He also expressed confidence that the film would perform well during the Sankranti festival season.
However, critics were less impressed. A review described the film as lacking depth, stating that while the horror-comedy genre is familiar to Indian cinema, The Raja Saab needed stronger storytelling to stand out.
Despite criticism, the film’s opening numbers clearly show strong audience interest.
