Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the latest edition of Mann Ki Baat (May 2025), lauded the ‘Made in India’ defence technology and capabilities that played a key role in the successful Operation Sindoor — a major international rescue and evacuation mission.

During the monthly radio address, PM Modi said:

“The world witnessed the strength of India’s indigenous defence and tech capabilities during Operation Sindoor. This operation was a display of our preparation, coordination, and commitment to humanity.”

What Was Operation Sindoor?

Operation Sindoor was a massive evacuation operation executed by Indian forces to rescue Indian and foreign nationals stranded in a conflict zone (details still undisclosed officially).

  • It involved the Indian Air Force, Navy, and Special Forces, using indigenously developed defence systems and equipment.
