India’s visit of the USA President Donald Trump has been one of the most awaited and most hyped events of the International world as two important and powerful leaders of the globe would be sharing the stage together and this would certainly be the start of new chapter in India-USA relations.
The President Donald Trump along with his wife Melania Trump arrived at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, on Monday and he was personally welcomed by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The President Trump visited the Sabarmati Ashram and then took part in a road show before addressing the Namaste Trump event at Motera Stadium which is based on the lines of Howdy Modi. This is the first India visit of Donald Trump and he will also visit Agra and Delhi before leaving for his country on Tuesday by 10 pm. Also read about, Aisha Sharma, Dhruv Rathee.
While the Indians are pretty excited for this visit of the American President, there are some who are slamming the Indian government for spending a huge amount of money on the preparations of this visit. It is being said that the Gujarat government has spent around Rs. 80-85 crore just for a three-hour visit of Donald Trump.
There are some more reasons because of which the Modi government is being slammed online; the first one is the construction of 1640 feet long wall which is being made to hide the slums that are in the route of the road show. The second reason is the release of 14000 liters of water in the Yamuna River to make it look clean for a day.
As a result, various hashtags including #NamasteyTrump, #TrumpInIndia, #TrumpVisitIndia, #IndiaWelcomesTrump, etc. started trending on the micro-blogging site Twitter and a number of hilarious memes and jokes began to circulate. Check out some of the selected ones:
