Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released its second list of candidates. The party has announced 20 new candidates, including some significant changes. Meanwhile, Awadh Ojha, a teacher who recently joined AAP, has been given the ticket from Patparganj. Additionally, Rakhi Bidlan has been fielded from the Madipur seat.
New Faces Given a Chance
In this list, AAP has introduced several new faces. The party has decided to give tickets to new candidates and those joining from other parties, opting to replace some of its older leaders. Among the new names in the list are Anil Jha, Bibi Tyagi, Veer Singh Dhingan, Brahmsingh Tanwar, Zubair Chaudhary, and Somesh Shaukin, who recently joined AAP.
Other Key Candidates
Several other significant candidates have also been announced in this list. Dinesh Bhardwaj will contest from Narela, Surender Pal Singh Bittu from Timarpur, Mukesh Goyal from Adarsh Nagar, Pravesh Ratan from Patel Nagar, Anjana Parcha from Trilokpuri, and Adil Ahmad Khan from Mustafabad.
First List Also Announced
In November, AAP had already announced its first list of candidates, which included 11 names, six of whom were from other political parties. In this second list, the party has also replaced some sitting legislators with new faces.
With this move, AAP is signaling its intent to bring in new energy and faces in the upcoming election, as it aims to strengthen its position in the Delhi Assembly.
