Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty starrer ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’ was all set to hit the silver screen on 15th November 2019, but it looks like things have taken a turn for the worst as a civil court in Bihar has now ordered a stay on the release of the movie. The movie will not release on 15th November.
The movie has been under speculations since a long time now, it seems like ever since the movie was conceptualized it seems to be in the thick of controversies, first due to the rejection of her role in the movie by Athiya Shetty, then accusations on Nawassudin Siddiqui for throwing unacceptable tantrums on the sets of the movie, also doing the rounds were rumours of the makers of the movie being upset with Sunil Shetty’s interference during shooting, and the director of the movie Debamitra Biswal being dropped by the producers and now under the controversy radar is the producer of the movie Rajesh Bhatia.

Rajesh Bhatia has been accused of not clearing numerous dues, a distributor of the film has filed for a stay in a Bihar civil court for the same with adequate documentation and proof. Earlier on the former director of the movie Debamitra Biswal had filed for a stay on the release of the movie trailer in Mumbai high court for the same reason, she was promised a sum of 11 lakhs for directing the movie which the producers had failed to pay, however, the stay was later lifted.
This was supposed to be Dibamitra Biswal’s Bollywood directorial debut, the former television creative director hails from Odisha and claims to have been working on the script of Motichoor Chaknachoor since the last five years. Rumour also has it that the producers are yet to clear Athiya Shetty’s payments.
Will Motichoor Chaknachoor ever see the light of the day? Only time shall tell!
