Meta is making changes to its monetization program for Facebook, simplifying the way creators can earn money on the platform. Previously, there were three separate monetization programs—In-Stream Ads, Reels Ads, and Bonus Performance—with different requirements and sign-up processes. Now, Meta is combining them into one unified program, making it easier for creators to earn.
Currently, Facebook creators can earn through three methods: In-Stream Ads, Reels Ads, and Bonus Performance. With the new monetization program, creators will only need to sign up once, simplifying the process.
Meta recently announced that it paid creators nearly $2 billion last year for posting Reels, videos, texts, and photos. However, the company believes creators aren’t fully maximizing their earning potential, as only a third of them have been able to benefit from more than one monetization program.
What Has Changed?
The new monetization policy will work similarly to the old programs, but now it will follow a performance-based payout model. Creators can still earn from their Reels, long videos, photos, and text posts just like before. Additionally, Meta is introducing a new “Insights” tab for all creators, allowing them to easily track earnings from different content formats and posts.
How to Apply for the New Monetization Program?
Meta’s new monetization feature is currently in beta mode, with about 1 million creators participating in the test phase. It is expected to roll out to everyone by next year, and beta testing has already begun this week.
