IPL 2026 Auction: The IPL 2026 mini-auction is to take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. Each of the ten franchises has completed the process of retention and release before the auction. Kolkata Knight Riders, who already have the most cash left over, need to recruit 13 players. They chose to keep Narine, Singh, and Chakravarthy, but on the contrary, they let go of big names like Russell and de Kock. MS Dhoni and Ruturaj Gaikwad are among the players that Chennai Super Kings have held on to, and Sanju Samson came in through a trade. In order to up their auction budget, CSK let go of quite a few senior players. By keeping Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah Mumbai Indians managed to maintain their core but got the least amount left to spend at the auction. Punjab Kings and RCB surprised fans with their rosters as they released big players like Glenn Maxwell and Liam Livingstone. The auction is expected to be very active with players being bought and sold as the budget margins between the teams are so large.
