The Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 are unfolding with intense political momentum, as the state witnesses one of its highest recorded voter turnouts in recent history. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed large public gatherings in Sitamarhi and Bettiah on Saturday, where he strongly criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and claimed that the voters of Bihar had given a “65-volt shock to jungle raj” through their participation in the first phase of polling.

According to the Election Commission of India, the first phase of voting was completed peacefully, registering a record-high voter turnout of 64.66%. This marks the highest-ever turnout in Bihar’s electoral history. Voting took place across 121 constituencies in 18 districts, involving more than 3.75 crore eligible voters.

Addressing the crowd in Sitamarhi, PM Modi stated that the people of Bihar are strongly aligned with the vision of a “Developed Bihar” and expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would secure a decisive victory in the state. He emphasized that higher voter participation reflected the public’s desire for stability, development, and a continuation of NDA policies.

The Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan), led by the RJD and the Congress, has also claimed that the high turnout indicates a wave of change against the ruling government. Analysts believe that rising participation in Bihar elections often signals strong voter sentiment, either for or against the incumbent administration, making the second phase of polling highly significant.

The second and final phase of voting will take place on November 11, and the counting of votes is scheduled for November 14. As campaign efforts intensify across the state, both alliances are making strategic outreach efforts to appeal to undecided voters.

With the stakes rising and public interest at its peak, the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 are poised to deliver a closely watched political outcome.
