New Delhi, September 22, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation today, emphasizing the transformative impact of GST 2.0 and encouraging citizens to buy only products made with the hard work of Indians. Calling it a “festival of savings,” he announced that the GST Savings Mahotsav would commence with the sunrise of September 22, benefitting every section of society.

During his 20-minute address, the Prime Minister appealed to state governments to strengthen the indigenous manufacturing drive, create a favorable investment climate, and work in close coordination with the Centre. “Only when the Centre and states work hand in hand can this dream be realized,” Modi stated.

Modi’s Past National Addresses

Over the years, PM Modi has addressed the nation on several landmark occasions. He also addressed the country after the 2016 surgical strikes and the 2019 Balakot airstrikes, praising the valor of the armed forces and calling for national unity.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Modi delivered multiple addresses to announce lockdowns, call for “Janata Curfew,” and encourage symbolic gestures such as clapping and lighting lamps to boost morale and unity. He also declared India’s vaccination program as the world’s largest during its launch.

On May 12, 2020, he unveiled the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (Self-Reliant India Mission), highlighting the government’s focus on startups, Make in India, and Digital India.

Through these national addresses, PM Modi has repeatedly underlined the importance of self-reliance, indigenous production, and collective strength in shaping India’s future.
