Surat: To promote the adoption of natural farming, the state government is making continuous efforts. In Surat district, the ATMA Project is encouraging natural farming practices. A training program on natural farming was organized in Umarakhadi village of Umarpada taluka to guide farmers in adopting sustainable agricultural practices.
The program highlighted how farming expenses can be reduced through cow-based farming methods. Farmers were given guidance on preparing natural fertilizers and pesticides like Jeevamrut, Dhan Jeevamrut, Agniastra, Brahmastra, and Dashparni Ark at home. These preparations can be sprayed on crops such as wheat, vegetables, pigeon peas, and chickpeas during the Rabi season to control pests effectively. The training sessions were conducted by agricultural department officials, ATMA Project representatives, and farmer master trainers, providing valuable insights to the farmers.
