Surat (Gujarat), [India]: The 3rd Edition of the India Green Energy Expo is scheduled to take place at the Surat International Exhibition Centre (SIEC), Surat, from 13th to 15th September 2024. The grand event will commence at 10:00 am with an inauguration by Shri Hiten Kumar, a celebrated Gujarati actor and Brand Ambassador of Opera Energy. Dignitaries including Shri Vijay Mevawala, President of Surat Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Shri Nikhil Madrasi, Vice President of the same, Shri Dilip Hirapara, Vice President of South Gujarat Solar Association, and key industry leaders will be present.
A One-Stop Platform for Renewable Energy
The India Green Energy Expo will serve as a premier platform for stakeholders in the renewable energy sector, including manufacturers, developers, technology providers, traders, and consultants. The expo will focus on promoting renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro, biomass, carbon credits, and the role of renewable energy in reducing carbon emissions.
Aligned with the Government of India’s mission to achieve net-zero emissions, the expo will also raise awareness about the benefits of using renewable energy. By hosting the event in Surat, a tier-two city, the expo aims to further penetrate renewable technology in emerging urban areas.
India’s Renewable Energy and E-Mobility Growth
India’s renewable energy sector has made remarkable progress, achieving 175 GW of total RE capacity by 2022 and positioning the country 4th globally in installed RE capacity. India surpassed its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) target for non-fossil energy sources, achieving it 9 years ahead of schedule in November 2021.
Event Highlights
The expo will provide insight into India’s booming renewable energy market and support government initiatives like the PM-KUSUM Scheme, which aims to add 34,800 MW of solar capacity by 2026. The exhibition will focus on:
- Setting up decentralized grid-connected solar plants.
- Installation of 14 lakh standalone solar pumps.
- Solarization of 35 lakh agriculture pumps.
