Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta starrer “Veer-Zaara” is undoubtedly one of the most iconic films of Bollywood and it is remembered even today for the beautiful love saga that was wonderfully presented by the late legendary moviemaker Yash Chopra.
15 years of “Veer-Zaara”:
The superhit film completed 15 years today and on this occasion, the “Mardaani” actress recalled some memories that are still fresh in her mind. For this flick only, SRK and Preity took resort to make up for looking much older than their age for the first time while Rani played the character which was a daughter-like figure for King Khan.
Rani found it difficult to play Saamiya in “Veer-Zaara”:
Needless to say, Rani’s role was quite different from the characters that she usually played in other movies and it was loved by audiences. However, as per Rani, it was pretty difficult for her to portray the character of Saamiya and you would agree with her after knowing the reason.
Rani says that it’s always a pleasure to work with SRK but shooting with him for this movie was very difficult. This was so because Shah Rukh played an old man who was a father-like figure for Rani while the actress had been habitual of romancing with him on the screen. Portraying his lawyer who was like his daughter was quite awkward for her since they both had to consider each other as father and daughter. As per Rani, it’s much easy for her to romance with King Khan but this kind of role was very tough.
Preity Zinta shared a post:
On this auspicious occasion, actress Preity Zinta also took to Instagram and penned down a special post in which she wrote that “Veer-Zaara” is very close to her heart and there can’t be any movie like it ever. Preity is highly grateful for Yash Chopra who gave her a golden opportunity to work in one of the most classic movies of the Hindi film industry.
