Surat is currently experiencing a noticeable cold wave. According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures are expected to drop further over the next two days, potentially reaching as low as 14 degrees Celsius.
At present, the city is witnessing winds blowing at speeds of 11 to 19 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 37 km/h. These chilly winds have made the weather significantly colder, particularly during the morning and evening hours.
Meteorological officials predict a 0.5-degree Celsius drop in the maximum temperature in the coming days. Currently, the maximum temperature in Surat is recorded at 29.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is 16.2 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the city’s humidity levels have decreased, registering 57% in the morning and 32% in the evening.
Experts suggest that the ongoing snowfall in northern India and the northerly wind direction are contributing to the intensifying cold in Surat. If the wind patterns continue at the same pace, the city may experience the coldest days of the season in the coming weeks. Residents are advised to wear warm clothing to protect themselves from the chilly weather.
Surat’s current weather conditions feel colder due to the windy and relatively dry atmosphere. The Meteorological Department has warned that temperatures may drop further, and if the winds persist, the city could face a more severe cold wave in the coming days.
