Surat District Task Force Raids on Udhna and Un: Two Child Laborers Rescued and Given Shelter

Surat: On Wednesday, the Surat District Task Force conducted raids at two locations in Surat, Udhna and Bhindi Bazaar (Un), where two child laborers, 12-year-old Sahil and 14-year-old Arman (names changed), were found. The raid was carried out by the Labor Officer, Assistant Labor Officer, Surat Municipal Corporation staff, and the Prayas team.

Sahil, a native of Kalupur, Bihar, had been working as a helper at Ahmedwadi Biryani Hotel in Bhindi Bazaar for the past 7 months, while Arman, a native of Uttar Pradesh, had been working as a helper at Madhwadi Biryani Hotel in Udhna. Both children were placed at the V.R. Popawala Children’s Home in Katargam. The documents of both children were recovered, and further action will be taken as per the Deputy Labor Commissioner’s office in Surat.
