Shweta Tiwari, the beautiful actress, was all set to return on the television screens with her new show which has been titled as Mere Dad Ki Dulhan but the show seems to be in a big problem after the allegations of plagiarism have been levelled by a Punjabi filmmaker.
Other stars
Varun Badola and Anjali Ratrari are playing the characters of father and daughter in the serial and as per the concept of the show, the daughter will decide that she will first find a suitable wife for her father and then only, she will tie the knot.
The controversy
Preeti Sapru, an actress and Punjabi movie producer, has filed a case against the makers of Mere Dad Ki Dulhan in regard to the concept of the show. Preeti has said that her movie “Teri Meri Gal Ban Gayi” which will release next year is also based on the same concept and they have registered the script of the film in 2017 with Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA) and The Screenwriters Association.
As per Preeti’s lawyer, when this issue was raised in IMPPA, the makers of the show had no explanation because of which they are forced to take the legal course.
On the other hand, Deeya Singh, one of the makers of Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, has refuted Preeti’s claim completely.
