Surat: The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) organized a session on “Inspiring Excellence in Leadership and Workforce Dynamics as part of HR Week on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 5:30 PM at the Sanhati Building, Sarsana, Surat. Renowned leadership coach and incubator Shri Himanshu Bhatt addressed the session as an expert speaker, providing comprehensive insights into the evolving roles and approaches of HR professionals in today’s dynamic world.
Speaking at the event, SGCCI President Shri Vijay Mevawala remarked, “Leadership is not merely a position or title. It is a vision – a bold perspective that challenges traditional thinking. True leadership energizes employees not through authority but by example, vision, and inspiration. A leader is the driving force of any organization, keeping employees motivated to achieve excellence. The synergy of inspirational leadership and dynamic employees always fosters innovation, resilience, and excellence.”
Shri Himanshu Bhatt highlighted the importance of commitment and transformation, urging HR professionals to dedicate three years to a specific idea or subject. He emphasized, “Employees aspiring to reach new heights must develop a habit of reading for at least half an hour daily. Focus on fewer tasks but dedicate extended time to them; this approach can change lives.” He explained the difference between activities and habits, adding that significant effort is required to develop good habits. “One must keep working until activities turn into habits. Transformation requires cultivating such good habits. Developing the habit of commitment is crucial for success,” he said.
He further stated that achieving success in any field requires developing planning and execution skills. “Employees should keep themselves updated about their work until the very end. Professionals must strive for excellence in their field and ensure 100% preparation for their tasks,” he added. He advised HR professionals to enforce 100% preparation as a norm within their teams. “Such an approach may take a week at most,” he noted.
Shri Bhatt stressed the importance of completing every task and avoiding abandoning work midway. “HR professionals must foster warmth toward employees without any expectations,” he added.
SGCCI Treasurer Shri Mrunal Shukla set the stage for the program by stating that HR professionals should adopt a mindset of recognizing employees who perform well rather than focusing on those who make mistakes. “HR’s role should transition from resource management to relationship management. A positive outlook is now crucial in this domain,” he said.
The session was attended by SGCCI Honorary Secretary Shri Nirav Mandlewala and several HR professionals. Shri Chirag Desai, Co-Chairman of the HR and Training Committee, introduced the speaker and managed the event. The expert speaker addressed various queries from HR professionals, concluding the session on a satisfying note.
