Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday accused the Election Commission (EC) of large-scale voter fraud during the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections. In a press conference held at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi, he claimed that a Brazilian model’s image was used 22 times in Haryana’s voter list under different names like Seema, Sweety, Saraswati, Rashmi, and Vilma.

Rahul Gandhi said this was proof of a “centralised operation” to manipulate election results, alleging that the Congress would have otherwise won by a big margin. Calling the incident “vote chori,” he launched what he termed “The H Files” to expose the alleged fraud.

According to Gandhi, there were around 25 lakh fake or invalid voters in Haryana’s electoral roll — about 12.5% of the total voters. He claimed this included over 5 lakh duplicate entries and 19 lakh bulk voters. “In one instance, a single photo was used for 223 votes,” he said, describing the situation as “theft of democracy.”

He also accused the Election Commission of working under the influence of the ruling BJP, saying, “A plan was made to convert Congress’s landslide victory into a loss.”

However, the Election Commission strongly denied the charges, saying there had been no official complaints from Congress polling agents during the election. EC officials also asked why objections were not raised at the booths if false voting was suspected.

This marks Rahul Gandhi’s third press conference accusing the EC of voter manipulation in recent months.
