As a teen, Mallika was always fascinated by the hustle and bustle of Mumbai. She always wanted to get a taste of the city’s cosmopolitan and metropolitan culture. One fine summer, she made up her mind to visit her maternal aunt who lived in Mumbai. Besides, she visited her aunt’s house in Mumbai. There, she was exploring the city. However, a major turning point in her career came.
The director of the popular serial Radha Krishn was searching for an appropriate actor to be cast opposite Sumedh Mudgalkar. For the role of Lord Krishna, he made a mark. In her SSC grade, she appeared for an audition for Radha. Later, she worked really hard in order to fine-tune her skills.
Afterwards, they selected her for the popular role after a whopping 2 and a half years! The producer of Radha Krishn, Mr Siddharth Kumar gave the good news to her. Since she looked very innocent, she was chosen for this crucial role. However, in the initial days, she struggled a lot in Mumbai. She felt homesickness too. Also, Mallika found it tougher to adjust to the different culture and livelihood of Mumbai, the city that never sleeps.
Often, Ruby Ma’am would find her weeping on the telephone call. Indeed, it is tough to move at a tender age. However, her mother motivated her a lot and insisted her to focus on the acting and dancing. Mallika is very fond of the role because the camaraderie and love betwixt Lord Krishna and Lord Radha were so chaste! It was devoid of any conditions and too selfless!
