Next up the vines for Akshay Kumar is an adaptation of the famous 2014 Tamil super hit blockbuster film ‘Veeram‘ starring Tamanna Bhatia and south superstar Thala Ajit. Veeram a movie made with the budget of 45 crores went on to make over 80 crores at the box office despite being a Tamil regional movie. Veeram was then remade in Telugu as Katamarayudu in the year 2017 with Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Hassan in the lead role. The movie has also been remade in Kannada as ‘Odeya’ and will be releasing in cinemas on the 20th of December 2019.
After being remade in 3 South Indian regional languages, Veeram is now being remade in Hindi as ‘Bachchan Pandey’ by Sajid Nadiadwala and Farhad Samji, the movie will be starring Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles.
Nadiadwala Grandson yesterday tweeted on their official page, announcing Kriti Sanon as the leading lady of their next directorial venture ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and welcomed her onboard the project. Kriti Sanon too tweeted to express her excitement to reunite with Sajid Nadiadwala, Farhad Samji and Akshay Kumar again for the second time. The shoot of the movie ‘Bachchan Pandey’ is scheduled to begin in February 2020. Kriti definitely holds a special place for Sajid Nadiadwala as it was his production house ‘Nadiadwala Grandson’ that had launched Kriti Sanon opposite Tiger Shroff back in 2014 in his movie Heropanti. Bachchan Pandey will also be Akshay Kumar’s 10th movie with the Nadiadwala banner.
The movie is right now in its final scripting phase and is all set to hit the theaters by Christmas next year. The movie’s release will collide with Amir Khan and Kareena Kapoor starer ‘Lal Singh Chadha’ and Ranbir Kapoor and Ajay Devgan’s untitled movie which is being directed by Luv Ranjan. We certainly have a lot to look forward to next Christmas!
