Surat, July 19, 2025: Once known for her viral videos and bold online persona, TikTok influencer Kirti Patel now finds herself at the center of a major legal storm. Arrested on June 17, 2025, in a builder extortion case by Varachha Police, Patel remains behind bars in Lajpore Jail, as her bail plea has been rejected twice.
Her confident smile during the arrest asking police to “Make a trending video and spread it across Gujarat” has now faded, as reality sets in.
A History of Crime Across Gujarat
This isn’t Patel’s first brush with the law. She has over 10 criminal cases registered against her across Gujarat including in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Junagadh, and Patan. Despite securing bail in the past, this time the courts aren’t taking chances.
Prosecutors argued strongly against her release, citing her habit of changing addresses and failing to appear in court. The court agreed, stating that her release would pose a risk to digital evidence and delay the ongoing investigation.
How It All Started: A Real Estate Dispute Gone Wrong
In 2015–16, a 65-year-old builder from Kapodra had booked a flat in the Umra-Velanja area. Later, after canceling the deal, he sought ₹7 lakh in return instead of the ₹5 lakh he had paid. The situation escalated in 2024 when Vijay Savani, a known associate, allegedly began threatening the builder using compromising photos.
Kirti Patel later entered the scene, allegedly luring the builder to a farmhouse in Kosmadi, where she served him a spiked drink, took inappropriate videos, and demanded ₹2 crore for not leaking them. The gang later released staged photos and videos online, attempting to pressure the builder into paying.
Court Says No: Bail Denied Twice
On July 8, Patel filed for bail, which was denied by the court after strong opposition by government lawyer Nitin Chodvadiya. The judge cited her criminal history, risk of evidence tampering, and failure to attend previous hearings.
This followed a similar rejection in June, where another judge remarked on her non-cooperation with court proceedings. Patel, once out on bail in a 2020 attempted murder case, had ignored court dates, prompting a non-bailable warrant earlier this year.
