Surat: A program on “Awareness and Education on Drug Addiction and Abuse” was organized at the Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC), Surat, jointly by ‘Nehru Yuva Kendra-Surat’ and ‘My Bharat-Surat.’ The event witnessed active participation from 50 youths. In today’s modern era, along with the increasing use of mobile phones, cybercrime and drug abuse have also seen a rise. This program aimed to spread awareness to keep young people away from such harmful influences.
In the session, counselors Mrs. Kalpanaben Mehta and Sunitaben Ahirkar from Parivartan Addiction Recovery Center provided detailed information about different types of drugs and their harmful effects. They urged participants to inform the police if they notice drug sales in their vicinity or elsewhere. Additionally, Mrs. Kantaben Jogadiya, a counselor from the District Legal Services Authority, shared insights on how the legal aid center can offer swift, easy, efficient, and free justice to the underprivileged sections of society.
The entire program was organized under the guidance of Nehru Yuva Kendra’s District Youth Officer, Sachin Sharma, and coordinated by the national youth volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Jaivik Raiyani, Ujjwal Parmar, and Shraddha Vaggu.
