Ishaan Khatter is one of the most talented young actors of the Hindi Cinema and even though he is only a few movies old in the industry, he has impressed audiences a lot by his performances. He is from the Bollywood background and started his career as a child artist.

Childhood and Personal Life

Ishaan’s parents Rajesh Khattar and Neelima Azeem are also actors while Shahid Kapoor, his half-brother, is a very successful Bollywood star too. Shahid is Neelima Azeem and famous actor Pankaj Kapur’s son. Ishaan was very much interested in acting from his childhood as his upbringing was done in an environment which was very much influenced by culture, arts and cinema. His schooling got completed from Mumbai’s Jamnabai Narsee School and then Billabong High International School. For graduation, he joined RIMS International School and Junior College and he also got dance training in Shiamak Davar dance academy.

Career

Ishaan Khatter was just 10 years old when he faced the camera for the first time in 2005 for the movie “Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!” His half-brother Shahid Kapoor played the lead role in the same movie.

Before making his debut as an actor he worked as Danish Renzu and Abhishek Chaubey’s assistant director on their movies, “Half Widow” and “Udta Punjab”, respectively.

Ishaan made his debut as an actor with the movie “Beyond the Clouds” which got released in 2017. The flick was directed by Majid Majidi and his performance was applauded by audiences as well as critics.

The next film in which Ishaan worked was Shashank Khaitan’s “Dhadak” (2018) which was produced by Dharma Productions and starred Janhvi Kapoor in the female lead. The movie was a remake of “Sairat”, which is a Marathi film and got released in 2016. Despite the fact that it got mixed reviews and many felt that the Marathi flick was better, “Dhadak” performed superbly at the box-office and Ishaan’s acting was once again praised.

Ishaan will be seen next in “A Suitable Boy” which is based on the novel written by Vikram Seth and besides this, he has also signed a movie with beautiful Ananya Pandey.

Awards and Achievements

In the year 2017, Ishaan won the Best Actor award at International Bosphorous Film Festival for his acting in the movie “Beyond the Clouds” and for the same flick, he also won the Filmfare Best Male Debut award in 2019. In the same year, he also won the Star Debut of the Year (Male) for “Dhadak” at the International Indian Film Academy Awards.

Relationships

It is being said that Ishaan has dated Ayesha Kapur, the actress whom we have seen in the movie “Black”. However, there were also rumours of him dating his “Dhadak” co-star Janhvi Kapoor.
