The e-Production Investment Business Visa, or e-B-4 Visa, has been launched by the Indian Government for Chinese citizens. The visa will permit Chinese businessmen to enter the country for carrying out the required business-related activities.
From a notice circulated by the Indian embassy in Beijing, it is apparent that the new e-B-4 Visa was introduced from January 1. It allows online applications, including embassy or middleman visits.
The visa will take approximately 45 to 50 days to come into effect after applying and will allow a stay in India for a period of six months.
Activities that can be carried out through the e-B-4 visa include equipment installation and commissioning, quality checks, critical maintenance work, production, IT and ERP initialization, training, supply chain development, vendor empaneling, plant design, as well as visits from senior management executives.
The step has been taken to facilitate cooperation for business purposes and investment between India and China.
