Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched its first flex-fuel two-wheeler, the CB300F Flex-Fuel, marking India’s first 300cc flex-fuel motorcycle. The ex-showroom price of the Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel in India is ₹1.70 lakh, and it will be available through Honda’s BigWing dealership network.
Although this is Honda’s first flex-fuel motorcycle in India, it’s not their first venture into flex-fuel technology. In fact, Honda has sold more than seven million flex-fuel motorcycles in Brazil. Interestingly, TVS was the first Indian brand to introduce a flex-fuel motorcycle with the launch of the Apache RTR 200 Fi E100. However, due to the lack of availability of flex-fuel in the country, that motorcycle was never sold. Honda has yet to announce when deliveries for the CB300F Flex-Fuel will begin.
Engine Power and Gearbox The Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel is powered by a 293.52cc, oil-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder PGM-FI engine. This engine is compatible with E85 fuel (85% ethanol and 15% gasoline) and delivers 24.5 bhp of power and 25.9 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and also features an assist and slipper clutch.
Features For better visibility, the motorcycle comes with an all-LED lighting system. Additionally, the Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel is equipped with a digital instrument cluster. The digital panel allows riders to adjust brightness levels and displays information such as speed, odometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, twin trip meters, gear position, and a clock. Notably, it includes an intelligent ethanol indicator, which alerts the rider when the fuel contains more than 85% ethanol, helping them manage fuel quality.
Braking and Suspension Visually, the CB300F Flex-Fuel looks similar to the version currently available in the Indian market. It features disc brakes on both wheels, with a 276mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. For enhanced handling, it comes with dual-channel ABS and Honda’s Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). The suspension system includes golden USD front forks and a 5-step adjustable rear mono-shock.
Company Vision Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s Managing Director, President, and CEO, Tsutsumu Otani, stated that the company aims to achieve carbon neutrality for all products and corporate activities by 2050. He added that, with over a decade of expertise in flex-fuel technology globally, Honda developed this motorcycle specifically for Indian customers to enable a seamless transition to flex-fuel in the two-wheeler market.
