Delhi Schools: Multiple schools throughout Delhi received bomb threat emails on Monday morning which caused panic and security agencies to respond immediately. The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) reported that emergency responders received their first call at 8:33 am which triggered the dispatch of fire trucks and bomb disposal units and police personnel to the sites of emergency response operations. At least nine schools throughout the city have reported receiving the threats. The following schools have been included on this list: Loreto Convent School in Delhi Cantonment and Cambridge School in Srinivaspuri and New Friends Colony and The Indian School in Sadiq Nagar and DTA School in INA and multiple schools in Rohini such as Venkateshwar School and CM School and Bal Bharati School. The threat emails contained disturbing and provocative language. The message claimed that “Delhi will become Khalistan” and referred to “Punjab as Khalistan,” while also mentioning “in memory of Afzal Guru.” The emails further alleged that a blast would take place in Parliament on February 13 at 1:11 pm, raising serious security concerns. Authorities acted quickly to ensure the safety of students and staff. The school premises underwent complete inspections which resulted in no discovery of any suspicious materials during the first round of searches. The police and security agencies have started an investigation to find out who sent the emails and to determine if they are real. Officials have said that more schools may have received similar threats, and all such cases are being treated with high priority. The government increased security measures at sensitive areas throughout the capital as a safety precaution.
