Bumrah Makes a Comeback: Mumbai Wins Toss, Chooses to Bowl; Rohit Also Returns to Playing XI

In the 20th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Mumbai Indians (MI) are taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first. Rohit Sharma returns to the playing XI, and star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is also making a comeback after four months on the sidelines.

Mumbai has had a shaky start to the season, losing 3 out of their first 4 matches. In contrast, Bengaluru has won 2 out of 3 games. Notably, RCB hasn’t managed a win at the Wankhede for the past 10 years—their last victory at this venue came in 2015.

For RCB, four different players have hit half-centuries this season. Phil Salt is their top scorer with 102 runs from 3 matches, including 56 runs in the opening game against KKR. Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar have each scored 97 runs in 3 games. Kohli remained unbeaten on 59 in the match against Kolkata.

On the bowling front, Josh Hazlewood leads RCB with 6 wickets in 3 matches. He took 3 wickets for 21 runs against Chennai Super Kings. In the same game, Yash Dayal also impressed, taking 2 wickets in 3 overs.
