Panic in Ahmedabad After Fire and Series of Blasts in Residential AC Warehouse

Ahmedabad: A devastating fire erupted in an air conditioner (AC) warehouse situated near Jivraj Park crossroads in Gyanda Society, Ahmedabad, on Sunday. The blaze led to a series of over ten loud explosions, sending shockwaves through the neighborhood and sparking panic among residents.

According to initial reports, the warehouse was operating out of a residential building — a likely violation of safety norms. As the fire intensified, it triggered multiple blasts, suspected to be caused by gas cylinders stored inside the premises. The powerful explosions were heard in the surrounding area, and flames rapidly spread to nearby vehicles, many of which were completely destroyed.

More than ten fire tenders from various stations, including Navrangpura, Prahladnagar, and Jamalpur, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Firefighters acted swiftly and managed to rescue a mother and her two-year-old child from the burning building. Vejalpur MLA Amit Thaker also arrived at the site to oversee the emergency response.

While the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, authorities suspect that stored gas cylinders may have exploded due to the heat. A detailed investigation is underway to determine the source of the fire and assess any safety lapses.

The incident has once again raised concerns about the use of residential properties for commercial storage and the potential risks such practices pose to public safety.
