In December, Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, will visit India to participate in the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited him to visit as the two nations continue to deepen their relationship, particularly in light of recent US tariffs connected to India’s import of Russian oil. President Putin and Prime Minister Modi will have formal discussions during the summit, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. He will be greeted at Rashtrapati Bhavan by President Droupadi Murmu, who will also throw a state banquet in his honor. The top leaders of both countries are anticipated to be able to discuss important regional and international issues, assess the state of bilateral relations, and establish future objectives for the “Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership” during the visit. Although the dates were only recently confirmed, Putin’s trip to India was first mentioned in August during National Security Advisor Ajit Doval’s visit to Moscow. As both nations continue to work together on defense, energy, trade, and geopolitical issues, the meeting is viewed as a significant step.
