PM Modi Hoists Flag: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Ayodhya today to hoist the sacred saffron flag at the newly completed Ram Temple, marking the formal end of its grand construction. The ceremony is taking place on the auspicious occasion of Vivaah Panchami, the day traditionally celebrated as the divine wedding of Shri Ram and Mata Sita. This spiritual coincidence has given the historic event additional emotional and symbolic meaning. RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a number of saints, dignitaries, and thousands of special invitees from across the nation are all present at the event.
PM Modi prayed at the Saptmandir complex early in the morning to start his visit to Ayodhya. At temples honoring Guru Vashishtha, Guru Vishwamitra, Maharishi Valmiki, Devi Ahalya, Nishadraj, and Mata Shabari, he paid his respects. After visiting the temples of Sheshavatar and Mata Annapurna, he went to the Ram Darbar’s sanctum sanctorum to offer special prayers prior to the main ceremony.
At exactly 12 noon, the Prime Minister will hoist a 10-foot-high and 20-foot-long triangular saffron flag atop the temple’s Shikhar. This ceremonial flag carries deep spiritual meaning, featuring a radiant Sun symbol that represents Lord Ram’s bravery, the sacred ‘Om’ signifying divine presence, and the Kovidara tree, which symbolizes the timeless principles of Ram Rajya. In Hindu temple culture, the Dhwaja-Rohan ritual is extremely significant and signifies the formal completion of the temple structure.
The Ram Temple itself is a marvel of architecture, fusing traditional South Indian features with the grace of the North Indian Nagara style. Its 800-meter-long outer enclosure was built using a traditional South Indian design. Ancient tales are brought to life through exquisite carvings that depict scenes from the Valmiki Ramayana on the temple’s walls and panels. Ayodhya is witnessing one of the most significant and historic days in its cultural and spiritual journey, with thousands of devotees in attendance.
