Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Receives First Software Update in South Korea, Camera Fix Expected Soon
Samsung Acknowledges Camera Glitch on Galaxy S25 Series, Promises Fix with Upcoming Software Update
After the global launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event last month, users have started reporting issues with the phone’s camera. The glitch, affecting all variants of the Galaxy S25 series—Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra—appears to cause color banding and blurriness in nighttime shots. This issue reportedly causes horizontal or vertical bands to appear in photos, depending on the phone’s orientation. Some users have even reported experiencing this problem when taking shots indoors.
Samsung’s Response and Upcoming Fix
Samsung has acknowledged the issue and confirmed that the camera glitch will be addressed in the next software update. The company stated, “We are aware of a limited number of cases where images appear blurred when taking photos in Night Mode on Galaxy S25 Ultra, and have issued a fix to resolve it in the next software update rolling out starting this week.” The update will likely also be available for the Galaxy S25 and S25+.
First Software Update for Galaxy S25 Series Rolls Out in South Korea
In separate news, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series has begun receiving its first software update in South Korea. The update, weighing around 586MB (potentially for the S25 Ultra), includes the February 2025 Android security patch along with several bug fixes and performance enhancements. While the update is rolling out in South Korea first, other regions can expect it soon. It remains unclear whether this update will include the fix for the camera glitch. Users can check for updates by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
