78th Army Day Parade was organized in Jaipur, a city in the state of Rajasthan, making it a historical occasion since it marked the first-ever holding of such a prestigious military parade in what is famously known as the Pink City. The event included representation from Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi. Such an event is a clear indicator of the growing defense strength of India and its focus on self-reliability. Many were drawn to the event due to its magnitude.

During the live telecast, journalist Shivani Sharma emphasized the impressive indigenous defense system hardware such as Pinaka Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher System and M777 Ultra Light Howitzer. Such hardware represented Indian advancements in defense manufacturing, following the Atmanirbhar Bharat Vision. Rapid action fighting vehicles and ground-breaking jamming technology of drones also appeared, portraying Indian defense initiatives in an effective manner.

One of the major noticeable events during the parade was the attendance by the veterans and the display of military equipment known by ‘Operation Sindoor’. This gave a major emotional and meaningful significance to the ceremony, paying tribute to those soldiers who participated in the operation.

As quoted by the Chief of the Army, General Upendra Dwivedi, Shivani Sharma highlighted the quote, “Operation Sindoor is still underway,” a direct and strict message targeting their enemies while assuring that the Indian Army is ready for operation.

The programme also highlighted the larger importance of organizing the Army Day Parade at different locations in the country. By organized this parade at Jaipur, the Indian Army has managed to build its rapport with its citizenry, giving them a firsthand experience about their heritage, discipline, and competence. The parade not only marked the anniversary of the Indian Army, but it also gave a positive message about its prospects of being a technologically advanced and self-reliant force.
