Virag Madhumalati from Mumbai Dedicates His Journey to Environmental Conservation and Addiction Awareness
Environmental Enthusiast Virag Madhumalati Covers 364 Kilometers, Reaches Sachin in Surat, and Plants Trees at Lajpor Central Jail
Surat, (Gujarat) [India]: With the goal of spreading awareness and responsibility for environmental conservation, musician and five-time winner of the Greenwich Book of Records, Virag Madhumalati from Mumbai, has embarked on a 1,200-kilometer pilgrimage. His mission is to plant one lakh trees, and this journey, which began on September 15, 2024, from Navi Mumbai, will conclude in Nakoda, Rajasthan. So far, he has traveled 364 kilometers and reached Sachin in Surat, where he planted trees at Lajpor Central Jail with the support of the superintendent and other officials, urging people to “Plant Trees, Save Trees.”
This pilgrimage is not just about tree planting, but Virag Madhumalati also spreads messages of addiction awareness at each stop, contributing to environmental consciousness. The government has also supported these efforts, aligning with the state’s environmental objectives. This journey is becoming a source of inspiration for environmental preservation and is playing a crucial role in raising awareness among local communities.
Through this pilgrimage, Madhumalati aims to create a society of environmental enthusiasts. His primary message is “Plant Trees, Save Trees.” He has been actively involved in protecting the environment for 14 years and has stopped using plastic bottles since 2019. Besides focusing on tree planting, Madhumalati also raises awareness about addiction and eye donation.
This initiative is not just for the present but is a part of a long-term effort to make future generations more aware of the environment.
