World Peace Walkers Team Reaches Surat After Covering 4.48 Lakh Kilometers Across 11 Countries

Met Surat District Collector Dr. Saurabh Pardhi to Extend Greetings

Surat, (Gujarat) [India]: The World Peace Walkers team, which spreads messages of cleanliness, tree plantation, road safety, the “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” campaign, and awareness about various government welfare schemes, arrived in Surat today after traveling through various states of India. The team met with Surat District Collector Dr. Saurabh Pardhi to extend their greetings.

After completing an extraordinary journey of 4.48 lakh kilometers across 11 countries with the aim of promoting world peace, the team was warmly welcomed by Dr. Pardhi. The group has not only achieved remarkable milestones like scaling the Mount Everest Base Camp in 2018 but has also planted an impressive 14.5 crore trees during their journey.

The World Peace Walk has successfully covered approximately 600 districts across India, delivering critical messages for societal and environmental well-being. The current team visiting Surat includes 20 members, with key representatives like Jitendra Pratap, Mahendra Pratap, and Govinda Nand.

A Journey Started in 1980

The World Peace Walk began on July 30, 1980, in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, initiated by Awadh Bihari Lal. To date, the team has completed its mission in 29 out of 33 districts in Gujarat.

Future Plans

During their three-day stay in Surat, the team will conduct awareness campaigns in schools focusing on the objectives of world peace and environmental conservation. They will then proceed to Tapi district to continue their mission.
