“Wife Said – ‘Why Cry Like a Woman?’: Bhaskar Reads Teacher’s 400-Page Diary Revealing Trauma, Betrayal, and Helplessness Behind Surat Suicide Tragedy”
Surat, Gujarat: In a heart-wrenching incident that has shocked Gujarat, a school teacher in Surat poisoned his two young sons with a drug-laced soft drink before taking his own life. Behind this tragic end lay months of emotional torment, betrayal, and psychological breakdown revealed through a six-page suicide note and a 400-page personal diary.
The deceased, 41-year-old Alpesh Kantilal Solanki, worked as a PT (Physical Training) teacher at Mary Mata School in Dindoli. His wife, Falguni, is employed as a senior clerk in the district panchayat’s education department. The couple had been married since 2015 and had two sons 8-year-old Krishiv and 2-year-old Karnish.
The Affair That Shattered Him
Alpesh had been deeply disturbed after discovering his wife’s extramarital affair with a co-worker. Though Falguni admitted the affair and promised it was over, Alpesh found it impossible to move on. His suspicion turned into an obsession, as he frequently questioned her loyalty—leading to arguments and increasing emotional distance.
In his suicide note, Alpesh mentioned that during confrontations, he often broke down in tears, to which Falguni would mock him, saying, “Why are you crying like a woman (Baila)?” The ridicule cut deep. “She said affairs happen sometimes, but now nothing is going on,” Alpesh wrote.
He Doubted the Paternity of His Youngest Child
The suicide note further revealed that the affair had been ongoing for four years. Alpesh even doubted whether his younger son was biologically his, indicating how deep the emotional wounds had grown.
A Diary Full of Pain
Along with the suicide note, police recovered a diary from Alpesh’s residence more than just a notebook. It was a personal chronicle that spanned from his marriage in 2015 until his final days. In the last three months’ entries, he detailed his daily emotional breakdowns, marital fights, and anguish over his crumbling family.
Bhaskar reporters went through the diary, which contained handwritten entries filled with sorrow, insecurity, and loneliness. He even used torn pages from his children’s school notebooks to pen his final goodbye—making it all the more haunting.
Final Day and the Discovery
On the afternoon of the incident, Alpesh had lunch with his wife, who then returned to work. When his mother tried calling him later and received no response, relatives were alerted. A friend rushed to the house and broke the door open—only to find Alpesh hanging from the ceiling fan. His two sons lay lifeless on the bed.
According to police sources, he had mixed poison in a soft drink and made the children consume it before ending his own life.
“Let’s Raise the Children Together,” She Had Said
In the suicide note, Alpesh wrote about how Falguni had once acknowledged her mistake and expressed a willingness to raise their children together. But for Alpesh, the damage was done. The constant suspicion, humiliation, and emotional toll became unbearable.
A Loving Family Torn Apart
Originally from Chithoda village in Vijaynagar Taluka of Sabarkantha district, Alpesh was living in a district panchayat staff quarter at Athwalines Road in Surat. His elder son studied in Class 3 at Lancer Army School, and his younger son had just started Anganwadi.
Neighbours and relatives described the family as cheerful and well-adjusted until this shocking incident turned everything upside down.
Police from Umra station have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the matter.
