A unique celebration is set to take place on October 20 in Adhoi village of Bhachau taluka, organized by the local Visha Oswal Murti Poojak Jain Sangh. This event will be the first of its kind in India, honoring the parents of Jain saints and sadhvi, marking a significant religious occasion for the Jain community.
The program will commence at 9 AM at the Sangh’s Upashray (community center), following a procession at 8:15 AM. During the event, parents of 70 saints and sadhvis residing in the area will be honored. This initiative aims to pay tribute not just based on Jain teachings but also in recognition of the contributions made by the parents of the community’s children. The event is structured around the principles of community welfare and respect for elders.
Jain communities from Adhoi, Kutch, Vagadh, and beyond are expected to attend this significant gathering.
Adhoi is recognized as a gateway for yoga. In Vikram Samvat 2065, a Chaturmas was held in Adhoi by Kanaksurishwarji, marking the first yoga practice in Kutch. Subsequent Chaturmas celebrations led by Kalapurnasurishwarji, Kalaprabhasurishwarji, Muktivallabh, and Surishwarji have also occurred here. This year, a grand Chaturmas will take place under the guidance of Munichandra Surishwarji.
Parents who have selflessly contributed to maintaining the lineage of Jain teachings are to be honored during this event, reflecting the community’s respect and gratitude. The Sangh’s Vice President, Mulchandbhai, along with trustees including Damjibhai, Champashibhai, Bhagwanjibhai, Premjibhai, Ravjibhai, and donors like Kesarben Gala and Amrutben V. Shah, have been instrumental in organizing this celebration, as shared by Malshibhai Charla.
