Ahead of the much-awaited release of Pushpa 2 on December 5, Allu Arjun has landed in a controversy unrelated to his upcoming blockbuster. A complaint has been filed against the actor at the Ababar Nagar Police Station in Hyderabad, sparking a debate over his choice of words during a promotional event.
The issue arose during a promotional event in Mumbai, where Allu Arjun addressed his fans as “Sena” (army). Srinivas Goud, president of Greenpeace Environment and Water Conservation Operation, filed a complaint alleging that the use of the term was inappropriate. He stated that the word “Sena” holds a special reverence, reserved for individuals who serve the nation in defense and security roles. Goud urged the actor to refrain from using this term for his fan base and suggested choosing a more suitable alternative.
In a video statement, Srinivas Goud said, “We have filed a complaint against Allu Arjun. The word ‘Sena’ is meant to honor those who dedicate their lives to the nation’s safety and should not be used in any other context.”
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna are busy promoting Pushpa 2, which has already generated immense buzz among fans. The controversy has added an unexpected layer of tension to the pre-release period of this eagerly awaited film.
How the actor and his team respond to this complaint remains to be seen, but it highlights the sensitive nature of language and its cultural significance in public discourse.
