Deesa Firecracker Factory Blast: 21 Workers Killed, ₹4 Lakh Compensation Announced, SIT Formed
Deesa, Banaskantha: A devastating explosion at a firecracker factory in Deesa has claimed the lives of 21 workers. Initially, 18 deaths were reported, but with the recovery of three more bodies, the death toll has risen to 21. The explosion was so intense that the warehouse collapsed, and many workers’ bodies were severely dismembered. Authorities fear the death toll may rise further.

SIT Formed for Investigation
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the incident. The team comprises:

Compensation for Victims
The families of the deceased will receive ₹4 lakh each.

Injured workers will receive ₹50,000 each in compensation.

High-Level Meeting at Civil Hospital
Banaskantha District Police Chief and Minister Balwant Singh Rajput visited the Civil Hospital, where a high-level meeting was held with ministers and officials to assess the situation. Meanwhile, authorities are questioning a worker from the factory as part of the ongoing investigation.
